500 YEARS LATER MOVie NIGHT The African Diaspora has been dealing disproportionately with broken families, poverty, crime and self hatred. The documentary `500 YEARS LATER' looks deep into the causes of these problems and on October 15th 2009 ASAH showed this documentary. The documentary `500 YEARS LATER' has received several prices. It shows the history and present day realities of the African Diaspora in a compelling manner. During the discussion several visions came forward concerning the following two topics. How large and significant is the influence of slavery in actuality? To what extent is our current situation our own fault? The diversity in opinions led to heated discussions.
