Board ’09-’10

To reach its goals ASAH has a board that oversees its welfare. The board consists of three members this year. Depending on the office of the board members, he or she can have the responsibility over one or more committees.

A board member is an ambassador of the association. One represents the student association at various functions. Where possible the board operates on equal standing. It meets at least once a week in order to take strategic decisions concerning the association and its members.

The board for the academic year 2009-2010 consists of the following three members:

 

Lilian Ejiofor, President

Lilian Ejiofor is 22 years of age and of Nigerian descent. She is the President and the Treasurer of ASAH. She is a 4th year student at the Erasmus University and is doing a master student in Economics and a Bachelor student in Law.

As a president she is the first to represent ASAH in matters that concern our association. As a treasurer she is responsible for all financial matters that ASAH deals with throughout the academic year. Last year she was ASAH's Public Relations Officer.

 

Rachel Rodgers, Public Relations Officer

Rachel Rodgers is 23 years of age and Bachelor degree in of Commerce from the Hogeschool voor Economische Studies in Rotterdam. Currently she works as a manager.

Rachel is of Surinamese descent and very interested in her African Heritage. To know more about her heritage, and to come in contact with more people from the continent, she had decided to become a board member of ASAH. It is also important to her to get experience in governing.

Since November 2009 she is the proud PR officer of ASAH  and responsible for all contacts with private donors and sponsors for ASAH's activities. In these tasks she is  assisted by the Public Relations Committee.

Mandy Mphaphuli, Activities Officer

Mandy Mphaphuli is 21 years of age and a second year student in Dentistry at the Amsterdam University. In 2007-2008 she started with BMG at the Erasmus University but after a year she decided to pursue Dentistry.

She is of South African descent and has a big heart for Africa. She shows her love for Africa by volunteering at the Water Life Foundation and now she has chosen to work for ASAH as well.

As Activities Officer she stays in contact with partners who work with ASAH on project basis. She is supported by the Activities Commission
